Day 1: Udupi Beach and Temple Kick
start
Started from
Panvel @ 12:30 am – Reached Udupi @ 8:00 am.
Left the
luggage at railway clock room.
Trip Coverage:
Malpe beach
Transport: Auto from pre-paid auto
stand outside the station.
Attractions at Malpe beach:

Krishna Mandir

Transport: Took a local bus from Malpe beach to Indrayani bus stop(Cost: 30 INR).
Then walked for 2km
from bus-stop to Mandir. If auto (Cost: 80
INR)

amusement like Carnatic music or Bharatnatyam dance etc..

Day 2&3: Munnar Delight
Started from
Udupi @ 11:45 am – Reached Thrissur @ 7:00 am.
Take
breakfast and left for Munnar (Bus frequency every 45min). (COST : 220 INR)
Trip Coverage:
Stayed at a
good relaxing resort “Blue bells” @ Pallivasal 2km before Munnar.(COST: 2000
per night, Deluxe room)
**One can
choose for less price hotel in Munnar city instead which can save a little of
your transport cost and hotel cost. Local markets are also near.
Took an auto
for the day to take a ride to all the places except the spice garden and
Blossom Park. (COST : 900 INR for the whole day. If A/C taxi than 2500 INR)
**I
prefer auto as you can feel the freshness of the air around….

bus to Thekkady (Kumily) directly @4pm ; @ 6pm @11am etc..

Day 6: Allepy boat ride

If the bus
is missed you can inquire at local bus stop for the other timings and round
around buses.

**There are
2 or 3 back waters from where you can get the boats but the one near the
Allepy/Alpuzza town has better services.

Kept the
luggage in the railway clock room and enjoyed the local travel buses which are cheap
one can also take auto worth 900 INR and travel to 9 different places.
One needs atleast 2 days in Trivandrum to enjoy it’s attractions around the city.

Cochin/Ernakulam (Parks, Harbor & Churches/palaces, Amuzement World) –Wayanad(monkey sanctuary)–Kazikode (elephant
sanctuary)- Kollam(beach & backwater) – Kumarokam(bird sanctuary) - Waterfalls in and surrounding Munnar.…
** We traveled in the end of March which is considered as off-season as the Govt. would close most of water sports and water fall area as they are prone to danger.
** Best season to be there is right after the rain so that you can enjoy all the places.

** One can
use cabs also for family..it might be an easy travel but the travelling
costs goes very high….So my suggestion is carry little luggage and use local KSTC buses for saving costs... If you shop courier it to your home from there as it would reduce your burden of carrying and guarding the luggage.
Eg. We bought the spices from Munnar but to avoid luggage hazzle we parceled from India Post office to home,Pune for 60/kg parcel price...
** The
prices mentioned here are off-season prices. (They consider rainy season as
off-season for hotels, taxi and auto as well as sight-seeing at some places).
** I believe one needs a minimum of 10 days to explore the whole of Kerela, tourist places.
** Arrange a normal stay hotel as most of the times you will be out exploring the place which can cut your expenditures.
** Our total cost for the trip for 2 people was as below: (approx pricing)
-> 3AC Panvel-Udupi-Ernakulam-Trivandrum-Panvel = 6200 INR.
-> Internal travelling between the places = 3000 INR.
-> Shopping of spice etc... = 7000 INR.
-> Elephant ride @ Munnar = 800 INR.
-> Blossom Park @ Munnar = 150 INR.
-> Stay @ Munnar, Deluxe room A/C = 2000 INR.
-> Auto for Site seeing @ Munnar = 900 INR.
-> Auto for Internal travel @ Munnar = 300 INR.
-> Kathakali Show = 400 INR.
-> Last point @ Munnar = 50 INR.
-> Udupi auto and back = 200 INR.
-> Thekkady night walk = 2000 INR.
-> Thekkady periyar boat ride = 400 INR.
